Day 1: Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñay Wayna – Machu Picchu Town
Approximate distance: 13 km / Duration: 6 to 7 hours
Your experience begins with an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco. You'll travel by private transport and then by tourist train to kilometer 104 , the starting point of this incredible hike. Here, a breakfast awaits you , freshly prepared by our mountain chefs, to help you start your adventure with energy.
The route will take you along the original section of the Inca Trail , passing through spectacular archaeological sites such as Chachabamba and the mystical Wiñay Wayna , surrounded by tropical vegetation and stunning views of the cloud forest.
Along the way, you'll enjoy a fresh and nutritious lunch, carefully prepared with local ingredients. Then, you'll continue to the iconic Sun Gate (Inti Punku) , where you'll have your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu —an experience that will define every traveler.
At the end of the day, you will descend to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) , where you will dine at a local restaurant and rest in a carefully selected 3-star hotel , with all the amenities to recharge your batteries.
Day 2: Guided Tour of Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
After an early breakfast at your hotel, you'll board a bus to the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu , where you'll enjoy a two-hour guided tour led by our certified guides. You'll explore the main archaeological sites: temples, agricultural terraces, ceremonial plazas, and sacred springs , while uncovering the mysteries and history of this Wonder of the World.
Optionally, you can take additional hikes such as Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (with prior reservation), ideal for trekking lovers and those who enjoy elevated views. In the afternoon, you'll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch (on your own) and then board the Vistadome or 360° panoramic train , which will provide you with spectacular views of the Peruvian Andes on the way back. Finally, a private transfer will take you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:30 p.m.
We'll pick you up very early from your hotel in Cusco (4:00 am) or, if you prefer, from the Sacred Valley (5:30 am) . For your convenience, we recommend spending the night before in Ollantaytambo to avoid long, early morning transfers.
From the train station, we'll begin a spectacular scenic journey through the Urubamba Valley to Km 104, the starting point of the trek . Here, you'll enjoy an al fresco breakfast prepared by our mountain chefs. Remember to have your original passport on hand , as it is required at the Inca Trail entrance checkpoint.
The hike begins with a visit to Chachabamba , an archaeological site that marks the beginning of this ancient journey. We'll then ascend along paths surrounded by cloudy vegetation toward the impressive Wiñay complex. Wayna , where we will explore agricultural terraces, Inca dwellings and irrigation canals.
After enjoying a nature lunch , we'll follow the original Inca Trail to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) . From this elevated vantage point, you'll have your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu at sunset , a magical moment few travelers experience.

This tour does not include personal porters, so you will need to carry your backpack during the trek . You can request an optional porter for an additional cost or send some of your luggage directly to your hotel in Aguas Calientes (by prior arrangement).
