Welcome to the 7 Lagoons Tour!
To ensure you have a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience, we've prepared these recommendations for you. Here, you'll find everything you need to know before embarking on this incredible adventure through the beautiful landscapes of Cusco.
Acclimatization to Altitude
Remember that Cusco is located at over 3,000 meters above sea level, and during the tour to the 7 Lagoons, you'll reach altitudes ranging from 3,800 to 4,400 meters. It's very important to acclimatize before the tour:
- Arrive at least one day in advance to Cusco to acclimatize.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
- Avoid excessive physical exertion on the first day to help you adapt to the altitude.
Hydration and Nutrition
Keep your energy and hydration levels high throughout the day:
- Water: Bring at least 2 liters of water. At high altitudes, it's easy to become dehydrated without realizing it.
- Snacks: Bring some energy-boosting snacks like nuts, granola bars, chocolates, or fruit to keep your energy up during the hike.
Preparation for the Walk
Trekking will be a major part of the day, with approximately 5 hours of walking (round trip) along mountain trails:
- Appropriate pace: Maintain a steady rhythm and listen to your body. Don't rush; the route is long, but there are several stops to rest and enjoy the scenery.
- Gradual Walk: The terrain may be uneven, so proceed with caution, especially in steep and slippery areas.
- Regular stops: During the tour, several stops are made to rest, take photos, and enjoy the views of the lagoons.
Additional Tips
- Don't leave trash: It's important to keep the environment clean. Always carry a bag for your trash and make sure to leave the place as you found it.
- Take your time for photos: The views are spectacular, so be sure to capture special moments. Don't rush, but also remember to keep up with the group.
- Respect nature: The tour is in a natural area, so it is recommended not to touch or interfere with the local flora and fauna.
- Good humor and disposition: A positive attitude makes every step more enjoyable! Enjoy the experience and allow the majesty of the lakes and mountains to envelop you.
