Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 am. Our expert guides will be waiting to ensure you start the day energized. Quality tourist transportation will take you comfortably and safely to our destination.
4:30 am - 6:30 am: Trip to Cusipata
After pickup, we head to the village of Cusipata , located south of Cusco. This journey takes approximately two hours and passes through stunning Andean landscapes. During the trip, you'll enjoy the panoramic views while preparing for the exciting trek ahead.
6:30 am - 7:00 am: Breakfast in Cusipata
Upon arrival in Cusipata , we invite you to enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast. Here, you'll recharge your batteries for the trek to Rainbow Mountain. Breakfast is a typical Andean experience that will prepare you for the challenge of the hike.
07:00 am - 07:40 am: Last stretch towards the start of the trek
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we'll board our transport again for a 40-minute ride to the trekking starting point , located 4,600 meters above sea level. As we ascend, the landscapes become more impressive, and the fresher, cleaner air will make you feel even more connected to nature.
7:40 am - 10:30 am: Hike to Rainbow Mountain
The hike begins at the trailhead at 4,600 meters above sea level. The trek lasts approximately two hours (4 km) and will take you to the summit of the famous Rainbow Mountain, at 5,020 meters above sea level. Throughout the hike, our team of guides will be at your side to provide information about the area's fauna, flora, and geology.
Along the way, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, Andean valleys, and the region's ever-changing landscape. Don't forget to stop for photos and enjoy the incredible scenery as you make your way to the summit.
10:30 am - 11:00 am: Arrival at Rainbow Mountain
You did it! You're now at the top, where you can admire the breathtaking landscape of Rainbow Mountain, one of the most spectacular geological formations in the world. The mountain's vibrant colors, ranging from deep red to green, yellow, and white, will leave you speechless. This is the perfect time to take photographs and enjoy the beauty that nature has created over centuries.
You'll have 30 minutes of free time to explore the area, relax, take photos, and simply marvel at the incredible views.
11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Descent to the starting point
After spending a few moments enjoying the views, we begin the descent back to the starting point. The return is more leisurely and, being entirely downhill, will take approximately one hour. Along the way, you can continue appreciating the landscapes and breathing in the fresh Andean air.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch in Cusipata
Once back at the starting point, we'll take the shuttle back to Cusipata , where you can enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. Relax and recharge with a traditional Andean meal, perfect for recharging your batteries after the trek .
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Return to Cusco
After lunch, we begin our return trip to Cusco. During the two-and-a-half-hour drive, you'll be able to rest, relax, and enjoy the panoramic views of the landscapes surrounding this fascinating Andean region.
